Mexico's Best Spanish-Style Wedding Venues (+ bonus CA venues)

Updated: Jun 21, 2022

When my couples reach out to me saying that they are looking for a Spanish-styled venue at their destination, I get sooo excited! I love photographing weddings with that architecture! I'm going to be honest with you, I think these Spanish-style wedding venues are some of the most beautiful venues in the world. Something about Spanish-styled architecture makes a wedding feel like a memory and a brand-new adventure all at once! They are the perfect mix of modern, clean designs, with a richly beautiful and cultural aesthetic. If you are chasing the perfect Spanish-style venue for your wedding in Mexico (or California), I can almost guaruntee you it's on this list! (And if it's not, when you do find it send it my way so that I can add it to my list).

Let's get to it!

  1. Villa La Joya in Cancun, Mexico. You can also see other red-roofed houses lining the shores in the distance, really adding to the overall Spanish-styled aesthetic!

2. This one is called One & Only Palmilla, and although it's not necessarily a fully Spanish-style, it does have a beautiful Mexican chapel, whose architecture lends a lot to the architecture seen in Spanish-style wedding venues.

3. Casa Churro is a very unique one. It is definitely an adventurous experience rather than just a simple venue. It is nestled in the heart of San Miguel de Allende, it's a very cultural, artistic city in Mexico's highlands that was colonized by Spain, thus causing many of the unique Spanish-style designs and architecture you see at the venue. I have found that their website leaves much to be desired, so I recommend googling it for more info about it, and to definitely go with a wedding planner if you choose to use this venue.

4. Villa La Mansion has one of the coolest views (in my opinion) when you are standing at the rocky shoreline, looking back at the venue and the entire hillside of Spanish-styled buildings. For someone who loves Spanish-styled architecture as much as I do, this was both inspiring and exciting to see!

5. Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta is a luxury hotel wedding venue located in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. While it is not as fully saturated with Spanish-style aesthetics, it does have hints of it.

6. Private Haciendas. (Multiple venues pictured below) This venue company has many venue options, and you can use their website to view all of their properties.

CALIFORNIA:

Now, here are my favorite California Spanish-style wedding venues! This isn't a long list because I really don't think it needs to be. These venues in California have totally stolen my heart, and I think they offer couple's everything they would want to have a beautiful wedding in California at a Spanish-styled venue.

2. The Club at Pasadera, Monterey

4. Hotel Californian. Not gonna lie, I kiiiiinda saved my favorite for last! My favorite in California, I mean. This hotel has been SO thoughtfully designed, and every time I'm there I am blown away by the beautiful details. It truly is the most perfect mix of a clean, modern, and Spanish designs.
