This couple wanted a venue that could hold their 50ish guests, provided options for a simple ceremony, first dance, cake cutting, and dinner. They also wanted something with greenery and a beach view -- Enter: The Royal Lahaina in Maui! The ceremony was on a lawn that overlooks the ocean, and dinner was held at the resort's restuarant just a few feet away! It was a perfect day.
As I live on O'ahu, this wedding was a short little island hop for me. Luckily, I love island hopping for weddings -- it's super easy, quick and convenient, and it allows me to serve couples anywhere in the Hawaiian islands! The flight was about 20 minutes, I grabbed my rental car at the airport, and arrived a couple hours before the bride and the wedding party at the venue to location scout, check in, and prep all of my gear.
This was a sunset / evening ceremony, starting around 5:30 PM. Guests gathered on the lawn at 5:00, while the bride and groom did a first look.
